Hello there! I'm Garrett Jackman, a DevOps engineer and
certified
AWS Solutions Architect.
This is my web-page resume and portfolio, created to showcase some of my technical skills
and tell you a little bit about me.
The infrastructure for this website is built with Terraform and hosted on AWS.
About Me

I am a motivated
I love getting hands-on with infrastructure as code (IaC), cloud deployments, and continuous integration. I am currently building a portfolio of projects showcasing real-world DevOps workflows.

Technical Skills & Certifications
Certifications
AWS Cloud Practitioner (11.05.2024)
AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (03.07.2025)- The Art of Music Production - Berklee (via Coursera)
Technical Skills
- Cloud Computing: AWS (EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, DynamoDB)
- Automation & Scripting: Python, Bash
- Infrastructure as Code (Iac): Terraform
- CI/CD Pipelines: GitHub Actions, Jenkins
- Version Control & Collaboration: Git, Agile
- Audio Engineering Crossover: Strong knowledge of signal flow and dependencies, systems configuration, troubleshooting complex technical setups
Soft Skills
- Research Fanatic & Lifelong Student: Nothing brings me more satisfaction than diving down the research rabbit hole and learning all I can about a given subject, a skill I have found most useful in my DevOps education and workflow.
- Excellent Collaborator & Team Player: I love working in collaborative environments and, frankly, am a joy to work with. I find it is of the utmost importance to check your ego at the door, accept constructive criticisms, and work together to produce the highest quality result, regardless of what the project happens to be.
- Works Well Independently: While I enjoy and excel working in team environments, I really relish the opportunity to lock in on a task and find a flow state.
- Strong Communicator: Years of working in collaborative and team-based environments have led me to value transparency and communication at the highest level. If your team is not communicating effectively, they are not working efficiently.
- Natural Problem Solver & Troubleshooter: I love troubleshooting. I would estimate that approximately 60% of the job of an Audio Engineer is troubleshooting, an area I have extensive experience in. The process of eliminating and narrowing down possibilities until you zero in on the issue is a gratifying and engaging challenge that just makes sense to me.
- Adaptability: I am capable of switching lanes mid-stream and thinking on my feet. Rigidity rarely serves one well, especially in an environment as fluid as cloud technology.
- Leadership: I have held multiple leadership positions throughout my life: ranging from captain of sports teams to management positions in the workplace to organizing and facilitating semi-monthly sessions of multiple D&D campaigns in my role as Dungeon Master (a logistical feat that should not be underestimated).
- Conflict Resolution: I am among the least confrontational people you will meet and I work well as an arbiter of disputes among peers. I have found this to be a useful skill in every position I have ever held.

Here, I will showcase some of the recent cloud projects I have been working on as I sharpen my skills in the craft of
cloud based infrastructure management.
